- Background of Establishment:
- in April 2001, Regional Development Division of Naka Ward Office in Yokohama asked Ryuji to run art programs designed to appeal to more people for "Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall" (National treasure-building). The voluntary "Yokohama Art Project" was established then. Since then, to explore the diversity of education in order for the next generation of children to present a bright future in society, YAP has trained and exchanged through concerts and art workshops, film festivals, including audio-visual education projects, afforestation project, also music, theater, and other artistic education.
- YAP's responsibility
- is to envisage and produce creative and artistic activities and opportunities for"a variety of sensory experiences", connecting different areas of social interest and concerns through creative process, engaging with a diverse range of participants [gender, age, disability etc], both nationally and internationally.
- YAP's mission
- is to gather people together to share and activate local aims, contribute to their local and global community, with the intention to build peaceful and safe environments.

- Programming and presenting professional exhibitions, performances, concerts and festivals.
- Developing and manage creative public programs, symposiums and educational activities related to YAP's mission statement, presentation program and environmental commitments.
